Achievements so far

Over the last ten years, many things have changed in the Brazilian economic, social, and political scenarios. Some of these changes resulted from the country´s natural development, others occurred through efforts from the community and entities defending productive sectors.

IDV, has taken the lead or supported many of these achievements. Among the most important ones, we would like to highlight the following events:

  • Reduction of IPI (Tax on Industrialized Products) for white line appliances, construction material, furniture, and wood boards;
  • Credit card machines;
  • Rejection of proposed PEC (Constitutional Amendment) 231, reducing work hours from 44 to 40 hours per week;
  • Support for the federal government housing development program “Minha Casa Melhor”;
  • Tax exemptions on retail commerce payrolls;
  • Anti-dumping measure for porcelain imports from China;
  • Regulations for insurance policy and extended warranty sales;
  • Creation of the Department of Commerce and Services, connected to the Ministry of Development, Industry, and Foreign Trade;
  • Participation in the tax substitution achievement;
  • Creation of the IAV, the only Precedent Sales Index available in Brazil, which is currently used by government agencies.
